Silk Yarns

Tussar Silk Yarns

Coarser, characterful yarn carrying the natural gold of wild-reared cocoons.

About the Silk

What Makes Tussar Silk Yarns Different

Tussar yarn is reeled and spun from wild cocoons, which gives it a heavier, more irregular profile than Mulberry and a natural golden base that needs no dyeing to look rich.

Weavers choose it when they want the cloth to show its yarn — slubs, texture and a matte-to-satin shift across the surface. It works especially well as weft against a finer warp.
