Assam’s rare golden silk — exceptionally durable, with a sheen that deepens over time.
Muga is produced only in Assam, from Antheraea assamensis, and is the rarest silk in our programme. Its natural golden colour is intrinsic to the fibre, and unlike most textiles it becomes glossier with washing and age.
Because volumes are genuinely limited, Muga is allocated rather than stocked. Tell us your requirement early and we will confirm availability against the rearing season.
The ranges below are what we most often ship. Width, weight, weave and finish are all made to order — send your specification and we will confirm exactly what is achievable.
Mekhela chadar and traditional Assamese weaving.
Limited runs where rarity is part of the story.
Accent yarn against Mulberry or Tussar grounds.
Reeled filament and spun counts with high tensile strength and an even lustre.
A blended yarn pairing Tussar’s texture with Muga’s glow and tensile strength.
Send us your specification and we’ll come back with pricing, lead time and swatches — usually within two working days.
