About the Silk

What Makes Tussar Silk Different

Tussar — known across India as Kosa — is a wild silk reeled from cocoons reared in the forest belts of Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and West Bengal. Because the silkworm feeds on forest trees rather than cultivated mulberry, the filament carries a warm honey tone that no dye can imitate.

The yarn is thicker and less uniform than Mulberry, and that irregularity is exactly the point: Tussar drapes with body, catches light unevenly and gives a garment texture you can read from across a room.
